Zallaf Oil & Gas Company announced that it has reached an agreement with the US-based company KBR to sign a contract for the provision of technical support and project management services for the South Refinery project in early February.
On Monday, the company’s acting chairman of the board held an in-person meeting with a high-level delegation from KBR, attended by board members and a number of department directors, as part of final preparations to conclude the technical support and project management services contract for the South Refinery project, according to a statement published by the company.
The company said the meeting, which was held at Zallaf’s headquarters in Tripoli, reviewed the latest developments regarding procedures to open a KBR branch in Libya. The KBR delegation confirmed that registration procedures for the local branch are still underway and are expected to be completed, with operating permits obtained, within the coming week.
Zallaf confirmed that both parties agreed to sign the contract in early February, under which the US company will assume management of the South Refinery project and provide the necessary technical support and consultancy services, ensuring the project reaches the operational phase in line with the highest approved technical and professional standards.
KBR is considered one of the world’s leading companies in engineering consultancy, advanced technical solutions, and the management of major strategic projects.
