Media reports have revealed the possibility of temporarily moving the hosting of the Spanish Super Cup from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Qatar next year in 2027.

This step comes due to a scheduling conflict with the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia. It is expected that Qatar will host one edition of the tournament.

It was noted that the Spanish Football Federation has made significant progress in negotiations regarding the Super Cup. This includes extending the current contract with Saudi Arabia for an additional year until 2030, with a plan for the hosting to move to Qatar for the following 4 years, starting from 2031 until 2034.

In a step confirming the commitment to the success of this four-club format, the Spanish Federation has invited 82 Spanish clubs from various categories to attend the current edition’s competitions. This enhances the value of the tournament, which has proven highly successful since its format was modified and which may see Doha host its exceptional edition next year.
