Egypt’s national team became the first to qualify for the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations, following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over South Africa’s national team. The match was held at the Adrar Stadium in Morocco on Friday, as part of the Group 2 fixtures.

The match’s only goal was scored by Mohamed Salah from a penalty kick in the final minute of first-half stoppage time.

Egypt’s national team wins with 10 players
The Egyptian team suffered a significant blow when Mohamed Hany received a red card in the second minute of first-half stoppage time. However, they managed to maintain their lead throughout the second half to secure three valuable points.

With this win, Egypt’s national team raised its tally to six points, leading the group standings. The team had previously won its first-round match against Zimbabwe 2-1.

Conversely, the South African national team’s points total remains at three, earned from their 2-1 victory over Angola in the first round.

In another match in the same group, the national teams of Angola and Zimbabwe drew 1-1. Angola took the lead with a goal scored by Gelson Dala in the 24th minute. Zimbabwe equalized with a goal scored by Knowledge Musona in the sixth minute of first-half stoppage time, giving both teams their first point of the tournament.
