South African comedian Trevor Noah during the 68th Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, February 1, 2026.
Former US President Donald Trump threatened on Monday to sue the host of the 68th Grammy Awards, comedian Trevor Noah, over comments he made about the Epstein case while hosting the event, which featured sharp criticism of White House immigration policy.
Trevor Noah spoke about Trump and Epstein after Billie Eilish received the Grammy for Song of the Year for “Wildflower” on Sunday.
He said, “Congratulations Billie Eilish! This is the kind of Grammy every artist dreams of, just like Trump dreams of Greenland. And that makes sense, because since Epstein’s departure, he needs a new island to spend time on with Bill Clinton.”
Trump Defends Himself and Threatens to Sue Noah
The former president wrote on his Truth Social platform immediately after the ceremony ended in Los Angeles: “Trevor Noah made false statements about me by saying Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on ‘Epstein’s island.’ This is not true!”
Trump added, “I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to ‘Epstein’s island,’ not even anywhere near it, and until this false and disgraceful statement tonight, no one has ever accused me of going there, not even the media outlets that publish false claims.”
He continued with a threat: “This loser Noah better get his facts straight and fast. It looks like I will be sending lawyers to sue this pathetic, talentless, and completely stupid host and demand substantial financial compensation.”
