Tottenham Hotspur fired its Danish coach Thomas Frank on Wednesday, following a 1-2 home loss to Newcastle United, a result that left the team in 16th place in the English football league.

The North London club, which dismissed its coach just eight months after appointing him, stated: “The results and performance led the board to conclude that a change at this stage of the season was necessary.”
