Today, Thursday, the first round of the first stage of the Libya Volleyball Finals kicks off at the Grand Hall in Tripoli, featuring the teams that qualified from the preliminary round: Al Hilal, Al Ahli Benghazi, Al Suwayhili, Al Ittihad Misurata, Al Afriqi Zliten, Al Ahli Tripoli, Al Ittihad, and Al Jazeera. Participation by Al Nasr Club was not possible.
The opening round will witness four matches: a match bringing together Al Ahli Tripoli and Al Afriqi Zliten, followed by a match between Al Suwayhili and Al Ahli Benghazi. It is worth noting that the first stage of the Libya Volleyball Finals is held in a single-stage group format. At its conclusion, the top six teams qualify for the second stage, which will also be held in two stages using a group format: the first in the city of Misrata and the second in the city of Benghazi. The title of the Libya Volleyball Championship for the 2025-2026 sports season will be awarded to the team that collects the most points across the two group stages of the final six.
