Al-Qubah, January 6, 2026 – The Public Prosecution has ordered the arrest of a foreign national who forged a family registration document in the city of Al-Qubah, enabling him to obtain a national number for himself and eight of his family members.

It was stated on Tuesday that the procedures for tracking cases of civil status forgery, within the jurisdiction of the Al-Qubah Primary Court, revealed to investigators that a person holding Egyptian nationality forged a family registration document, which allowed him to obtain grants designated for Libyan families.

It was added that the forger proceeded to obtain national numbers that facilitated him, and eight of his family members, in acquiring Libyan passports and other benefits derived from citizenship. Consequently, the Prosecution ordered the signing of measures to reverse the consequences of the forgery act and directed the arrest and presentation of the foreign national.
