The management of the “Golden Crescent” Award has revealed details of its intensive preparations to launch its second edition in 2026, confirming its determination to establish the award’s status as a platform for celebrating Libyan art and drama creators and turning it into an “Oscar” for local production.

With the blessed month of Ramadan approaching, the award committee has decided to introduce three new prizes: the “Golden Crescent VAR” Award, dedicated to the best sports programs to be broadcast during the Ramadan season; the “Golden Crescent Sol” Award for the best Ramadan religious chant or interlude; and an award for the best drama “theme song.” This was announced in a post on the award’s official page.

The award’s management announced that the judging committee includes experts and specialists in artistic and media criticism to ensure the highest standards of “integrity, confidentiality, and objectivity.”
