Benghazi – The General Electricity Company announced in a statement today, Tuesday, that the current weather conditions in the city of Benghazi have resulted in varying degrees of damage to a number of components of the electrical grid. The company confirmed that its technical teams are monitoring the situation through the designated emergency operations center.
The company explained that the Board of Directors is mobilizing all technical and human resources to deal with the emergency, stressing that repair and maintenance work will begin as soon as weather conditions improve. This is to ensure the stability of the grid and the continued provision of services to citizens.
The company also issued an appeal to citizens, urging them not to approach or handle any damaged wires for their own safety.
