Benghazi, December 20, 2025 – The Follow-up Committee for Oversight Agencies of the House of Representatives strongly condemned the criminal attack that targeted the headquarters of the National Anti-Corruption Authority in the city of Janzur.
The committee stated in a statement issued today that this attack is a blatant assault on state institutions and a desperate attempt to undermine efforts to combat corruption and establish transparency and integrity.
The committee emphasized in its statement that targeting an oversight body working to protect public funds and promote accountability constitutes a direct threat to the path of national reform and a dangerous message aimed at undermining citizens’ trust in their institutions.
The committee expressed its full solidarity with all employees of the Authority, calling on the relevant authorities to swiftly open an urgent and transparent investigation, pursue the perpetrators, and bring them to justice, while taking all necessary measures to ensure the protection of oversight institutions from any future threats.
The Follow-up Committee for Oversight Agencies also reaffirmed its full support for all national efforts aimed at eradicating corruption, stressing that such cowardly acts will not deter us from continuing on the path of reform and building a state of law and institutions.
