Al-Khums Club has contracted with national coach Sami Al-Qaeed to lead the first football team, replacing Tunisian coach Abdelrahman Al-Awiti.
In statements to Libya Al-Ahrar channel, the Chairman of Al-Khums Club’s Board of Directors stated that the difficult financial situation the club is currently experiencing was one of the main reasons for the departure of the Tunisian coach Abdelrahman Al-Awiti.
Al-Qaeed’s first appearance as coach of Al-Khums will begin tomorrow, Thursday, when the team visits Al-Swehli at Misrata Stadium, as part of the second round of the Premier League.
Al-Khums Club had lost to Al-Dhahra team with a score of 3–1 in the opening match of the Premier League for the 2025–2026 sports season.
