Tripoli, February 17, 2026 – The President of the Presidential Council issued a decision yesterday, Monday, stipulating that ambassadors and representatives of the State of Libya to international organizations abroad shall continue to perform their duties until a contrary decision is issued by the Presidential Council.

The President of the Presidential Council attributed his decision to the public interest and the preservation of the interests of the Libyan state abroad.

The second article of the decision stipulated that it shall be effective from the date of its issuance, that any contradictory measures shall be canceled, and that the competent authorities must adhere to and implement it.
