
Tripoli, February 11, 2026 – The head of the Presidential Council met with the head of the Government of National Unity in Tripoli this Wednesday to discuss the latest political, economic, and security developments in the country.
The meeting addressed the latest developments regarding bids for some energy sector contracts and related regulatory measures, alongside discussions on managing public spending, controlling fiscal policy, and following up on revenue files and enhancing transparency in public contracts.
Both sides emphasized the necessity of adhering to the unified development program, halting any parallel spending tracks or expenditures outside legal frameworks, and confining spending to official channels to support the stability of public finances.
The meeting also reviewed efforts to enhance security stability, support official institutions, and coordinate to ensure stability in the capital and other cities, in addition to the latest developments in the political process and upcoming national milestones.
The discussion touched on economic measures being taken in preparation for the month of Ramadan, including market regulation, providing essential goods, price monitoring, and expanding social protection programs for the most vulnerable groups.
