Tripoli, February 16, 2026 – A kidney transplant was successfully performed on a child at the headquarters of the National General Authority for Organ, Tissue, and Cell Transplantation in Tripoli on Sunday. The child’s father donated his kidney. The operation was a success, and both the child and his father are in good health, with the kidney’s functions having returned to normal levels.
The head of the authority stated, “I was pleased today, Monday, February 16, 2026, to see one of our children recovering after undergoing a kidney transplant yesterday, Sunday. The credit goes to his father, who insisted on donating his kidney to his son so he could see him smiling, healthy, and living his childhood with his peers. Appreciation and respect to anyone who donates a part of their body, and my prayers and all of our prayers for this child’s speedy recovery.”
