Gharyan, December 28, 2025 – The funeral prayer and memorial ceremony for the martyr, Major General “Mahmoud Jumaa Al-Qatwi,” were held this Sunday noon at the Gharyan Sports City. His soul ascended following the crash of the aircraft carrying the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Field Marshal “Mohammed Al-Haddad.”
A number of officers and soldiers from various units of the Libyan Army, the mayor and members of the municipal council, and a large crowd of dignitaries, sheikhs, and residents of Gharyan city and surrounding areas participated in the funeral ceremony.
After the funeral prayer concluded, the memorial ceremony for the martyr’s soul began. It started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem, speeches from the Military Manufacturing Authority, the Mayor of Gharyan Municipality, the Committee of Elders and Dignitaries of Gharyan, Gharyan University, in addition to a speech from the Libyan Army delivered by the Military Inspector General.
