The Libyan series “Jarad Mard” is presented as a social drama consisting of fifteen episodes. It addresses a set of issues and problems suffered by Libyan society, presenting them within a framework of “purposeful comedy” that blends entertainment with constructive social criticism.
The series is scheduled to be broadcast during the month of “Ramadan 2026”. It was filmed in the city of Bani Walid and features a large cast of actors.
About the Series
In a statement, one of the lead actors spoke about the nature of the work, saying, “The series addresses a number of widespread phenomena in society, including magic and sorcery, smuggling, illicit gain, and the exploitation of religion and position. It sheds light on their consequences in the absence of the state and the law, and their direct repercussions on the social fabric and the stability of society.”
He added, “The work carries a clear message calling for activating the role of the army, police, and security agencies to protect the citizen and enhance security, stability, and the homeland. It emphasizes the necessity of establishing a state of law and unified institutions under one leadership, with an effective army and police. The work concludes its message by calling for holding elections and rejecting division and discord, considering them a fundamental entry point for achieving stability and strengthening the unity of the country.”
He concluded his statement with a brief about the nature of the character he portrays in the series, saying, “I play the role of Sheikh Al-Senussi, a complex character, which required greater effort to present a character with different dimensions.”
