Tripoli, January 9, 2026 – The Tripoli Anti-Corruption Prosecution has decided to detain the director of the Al-Hadhba agricultural project pending investigation, following his involvement in financial violations.

It was stated that the accused acted in violation of the financial regulations concerning agricultural equipment and machinery, exchanging them for a motor vehicle whose value does not equal what was spent, and then illegally claiming ownership for himself.

According to the statement, the project director mismanaged an amount of 1.2 million dinars allocated for the maintenance of sewage treatment pumps, using the funds for purposes other than those intended.

It was noted that the Tripoli Anti-Corruption Prosecution investigated the incident, confronted the accused with the alleged facts and legal violations attributed to him, and decided to detain him pending further investigation.
