Tripoli – February 5, 2026 – The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Menfi, received a delegation from the city of Kikla at the Council’s headquarters on Thursday. The delegation included a member of the House of Representatives, a member of the High Council of State, the mayor of Kikla, and a number of the city’s elders and notables.

The media office of the President of the Presidential Council stated that the delegation expressed its support for the President’s efforts in the path of national reconciliation and transitional justice, and his endeavors aimed at unifying the national ranks and promoting stability leading up to holding elections.

The office explained that the meeting discussed the general situation in the city of Kikla and ways to support it. It was noted that at the end of the visit, the delegation presented a commemorative shield to the President of the Presidential Council in appreciation of his role and leadership during this pivotal stage in the country’s history.

It was designed to serve as an advisory and consensus-building authority, representing a broad spectrum of Libyan society and political factions during the country’s transitional period following the 2011 civil war.
