Al-Ahli Benghazi advanced to the Round of 16 of the Libyan Football Cup after defeating Al-Burouq 1-0 today. The match between the two teams was held at Benghazi International Stadium this Saturday as part of the Round of 32. The only goal of the match was scored by Hussein Taqtouq in the 13th minute.
In another Round of 32 match of the Libyan Cup, Al-Malabi Al-Libi defeated Ittihad Gharyan 2-1 in the match held at Tarhuna City Stadium. The goals for Al-Malabi Al-Libi were scored by Mamadou and Al-Harari. With the same result, Al-Taawun defeated Al-Anwar in the match held at Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi. The two goals for Al-Taawun were scored by Khaled Magdy and Mo’tasim Boushnaf, while the goal for Al-Anwar was scored by Hammam Al-Harish.
Al-Swehli also secured its place in the Round of 16 of the Libyan Cup after defeating Al-Majd 4-3 in a penalty shootout. The teams resorted to penalties after the original match time ended in a 2-2 draw. The two goals for Al-Swehli were scored by Ayoub Ayad and Gabriel Oruk, while the two goals for Al-Majd were scored by the Egyptian player Bassem Morsi and Alaa Khalifa from a penalty kick.
Finally, Al-Olympic advanced to the Round of 16 of the Libyan Cup after defeating Al-Khums 5-4 in a penalty shootout. The teams went to penalties after the original match time ended in a 1-1 draw.
