
Tripoli, December 31, 2025 – The Attorney General reviewed the members of the prosecution tasked with investigating cases of forgery of civil registry data within the jurisdiction of all courts of appeal. The review included statistics on the auditing of data related to residency, relocation, and registration across 160 offices of the registry, as well as the progress of procedures to verify the conditions under which some foreigners obtain Libyan citizenship.
During the meeting, the discussion also covered the scope of measures taken by the investigative framework against perpetrators of civil registry data forgery, and the requirements for addressing the severe impacts of these crimes on the economic, social, and political rights of the people, in a manner consistent with the objectives of the investigation and the public prosecution.
