Ramallah, December 24, 2025 – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas offered his condolences to the President of the Presidential Council and the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity on the death of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, General Mohamed Ali Al-Haddad, and four of his colleagues and aides who were on board the plane that crashed after taking off from Ankara Airport.
President Abbas said in his two condolence messages, “We share your grief in this great tragedy. We extend to you, and through you to the brotherly Libyan people, the respected government, the valiant Libyan army, and the honorable families of the victims, our most sincere condolences and fraternal sympathy. We pray to Almighty God to envelop the departed with His vast mercy, grant them a place in His spacious paradise, and protect you and your people from all harm.”
