British authorities have charged Spanish Villarreal player, Thomas Partey, with two new counts of rape, based on a report filed by another woman last August. This increases the legal pressure on the player ahead of his scheduled trial on November 2, 2026.

For her part, the defense attorney confirmed that Partey denies all charges and is cooperating with the police, and will not make additional statements due to ongoing legal proceedings.

Partey was released on bail with strict conditions continuing, including a ban on contacting the alleged victims and notifying the police of any changes in address or international travel.

The player has participated in 21 matches with Villarreal this season and has continued to represent the Ghana national team, with his last international match being against Comoros in the World Cup qualifiers in October 2025.
