Harouge Oil Operations Company has brought a new oil well into production at the Amal field, with output estimated at approximately 1,800 barrels per day.

The well, designated B-120, was commissioned after drilling and connection work was completed at a depth exceeding 10,200 feet.

The development marks a significant step in efforts to increase production levels and reflects the company’s commitment to plans aimed at boosting and sustaining output.

Technical teams overcame several challenges during the drilling and completion phases through careful planning and sustained teamwork, with the role of national staff across various fields and sites being highlighted.

Harouge and its workforce were thanked for delivering the project, with support reaffirmed for national expertise as part of broader efforts to strengthen the oil sector and the wider economy.

Harouge Oil Operations Company is a joint venture established in 2005 between Libya’s National Oil Corporation and Canada’s Suncor Energy. It was formed to develop and enhance oil production from specific fields in Libya’s Murzuq Basin, building upon existing infrastructure and reserves.
