Tripoli, January 29, 2026 – The National General Authority for Organ, Tissue, and Cell Transplantation organized a scientific day at the Al Mahari Hotel in Tripoli, in cooperation with Al Ru’ya Medical Company, as part of supporting and developing organ transplantation programs.
The event was attended by the head of the authority, the head of the National Kidney Diseases Authority, the head of the National General Blood Transfusion Authority, a visiting physician, along with a number of medical and paramedical staff, and a group of specialists and stakeholders in this field.
During the scientific day, held yesterday, Wednesday, several scientific and medical topics related to organ transplantation were discussed, focusing on current challenges and ways to develop this vital sector.
A lecture was delivered on the results of kidney transplant cases for patients with antibodies, which were performed by the national authority during 2025.
It was also noted that the authority has performed 613 kidney transplants and 21 liver transplants, and it follows up with patients and donors periodically, providing them with continuous treatment services.
For his part, the visiting physician presented a scientific lecture titled “The Possibility of Kidney Transplantation Between Incompatible Blood Groups Using Dual Filtration Devices.”
This scientific program comes within the framework of the National General Authority for Organ Transplantation’s keenness to enhance scientific cooperation and exchange of expertise, aiming at the continuous professional development of specialized medical personnel in this field, which benefits patients and contributes to the advancement of health services.
