Nalut, January 20, 2026 – The Education Monitoring Office of Nalut Municipality announced that tomorrow, Wednesday, will be an official holiday for all schools and educational institutions for both morning and evening sessions, due to the continued severe weather conditions.
The Monitoring Office attributed the holiday decision to reports received from the National Meteorological Center, which indicate the persistence of severe weather conditions (strong winds and a frost wave), as well as the commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our students and all employees of the Education Monitoring Office in Nalut Municipality.

Nalut is a historic Berber town in northwestern Libya, best known for its ancient ksar, a fortified granary built into the mountainside. This structure, dating back centuries, was used by the local Amazigh people to store grain and olive oil, showcasing traditional desert architecture adapted for both community storage and defense.
