Benghazi, January 27, 2026 – Preparations are currently underway to finalize programs and series for the month of Ramadan. Channels are engaged in an intensive race to select works, complete filming, and add the final artistic touches, aiming to present diverse content that aligns with audience interests, highlights societal issues, and combines entertainment with purposeful media messaging across various platforms for the upcoming Ramadan season.
In this context, Libyan actress Khadouja Sabri announced that she has recently begun filming her first dramatic work for the upcoming Ramadan season, the series “Zanaki Al-Izz,” scheduled to air on Al-Masar channel during Ramadan. She described this experience as different and rich on both artistic and human levels.
Sabri stated that the series addresses a range of diverse social issues relevant to Libyan society, explaining that the work relies on episodes, each carrying its own specific details and renewed events full of surprises for viewers.
She clarified that the filming of “Zanaki Al-Izz” took place inside the Media Production City in Cairo, as part of a joint Libyan-Egyptian production experience. An Egyptian technical team handled the technical aspects, while the cast was exclusively Libyan. She considered that this diversity added a unique artistic character to the work, positively impacting the production quality.
Khadouja Sabri expressed her happiness at participating in this work, especially alongside a number of Libyan drama stars, confirming her hope that the series will be well-received by the audience during Ramadan, in appreciation of the efforts made by all elements of the production.
Regarding her artistic activities, Sabri revealed her participation in the sixth season of the program “Bahbaha,” a competition program. She indicated that it is an entertaining yet human program that blends joy with painful experiences, as guests share their personal stories laden with suffering or hope. She confirmed that the work is distinguished by its light presentation and clean content, making it close to the audience.
She also announced her participation in another series titled “The Red Line,” explaining that her role in this work is completely different from her role in “Zanaki Al-Izz.” Although she portrays a mother in both works, each character carries different psychological dimensions and a distinct performance style.
She emphasized that her collaboration this year with young directors and writers represents an important and distinctive experience, especially with the participation of writers embarking on their first drama venture. She considered that opening up to young talents is an absolute necessity to ensure the development and continuity of art.
Khadouja Sabri concluded her remarks by affirming that her Ramadan works this year constitute a pivotal milestone in her artistic career, which spans over forty years, expressing her hope to continue these experiences and present new installments in upcoming seasons.
