Legal documents show that entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk is seeking up to $134 billion in compensation from the artificial intelligence company OpenAI and Microsoft, claiming he is entitled to the “ill-gotten gains” they obtained from his early support of the AI company.
In the lawsuit filed in a federal court, Musk stated that OpenAI earned between $65.5 and $109.4 billion thanks to his contributions when he co-founded it in 2015, while Microsoft earned between $13.3 and $25.1 billion.
Tesla Shareholders Approve Compensation Package for Musk
On November 7 last year, Tesla shareholders, by a majority, approved a massive compensation package for its CEO, Elon Musk, which could reach a trillion dollars.
The compensation package, prepared to ensure Musk remains at the helm of the company while it seeks to develop advanced technology in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics, received support from more than 75% of shareholders, according to a statement made during the annual meeting.
