Tripoli, January 22, 2026 – The Ministry of Justice of the Government of National Unity has condemned in the strongest terms what it described as a treacherous and cowardly attack on the head of the Tripoli branch of the Judicial Police, Major General Faraj Jumaa al-Mabrouk, after his vehicle was hit by a hail of bullets, resulting in minor injuries.

The Ministry of Justice denounced these criminal and sinful acts that aim to destabilize security and undermine the state’s prestige, according to a statement issued by the ministry on Thursday.

The Ministry of Justice affirmed its firm resolve to closely coordinate with all security agencies and relevant judicial authorities to pursue the perpetrators and bring them to justice so they receive the deterrent punishment they deserve for their actions.

The statement said that the ministry will not be lenient or hesitate in confronting any attack targeting its employees or affiliates of its subordinate agencies, confirming its continued commitment to its national duty of safeguarding the nation’s security and protecting its citizens.
