Tripoli, January 1, 2026 — The Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government has directed the Center for Educational Curricula and Pedagogical Research to immediately begin procedures for printing the textbook for the 2026–2027 academic year. This aims to ensure its timely delivery to educational institutions and avoid the problems that have affected the educational process in previous years.
This directive came during a technical meeting held by the Ministry. The meeting reviewed the progress of the first-period exams for general certificates and the end-of-semester exams for the first term of the 2025–2026 academic year. Reports on the level of discipline and organization within educational institutions were presented.
It was noted that a number of challenges faced the Ministry during the current year, most notably the delayed arrival of textbooks and the resulting difficulties that impacted the educational process. The importance of early resolution of these issues was emphasized.
In this context, there was a strong emphasis on the necessity of immediately starting the procedures for printing the textbook for the 2026–2027 academic year. This is to ensure its timely availability and to achieve stability for the educational process from the start of the school year.
The meeting was part of ongoing efforts to assess the challenges faced by the education sector during 2025 and to establish practical mechanisms for addressing them, with a focus on early planning and improving institutional performance.
Attendees also reviewed the achievements of their departments during the first quarter of the current academic year and their plans for completing the remainder. Discussions included addressing the qualitative shortage of teachers for certain subjects, activating educational inspection visits, and linking student registration systems between relevant authorities.
