Libya, represented by the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, is participating in the 21st International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG 2026), hosted by Qatar, with the participation of 80 countries, along with senior industry leaders, energy experts, and policymakers.

Ahead of the conference, the National Oil Corporation Chairman stated that the Corporation’s participation reflects its commitment to openness toward international partnerships and to strengthening its presence in global forums, in a way that serves the interests of Libya’s oil and gas sector and keeps pace with global transformations in this field.

Upon arrival in Doha, the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation met with Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs and CEO of QatarEnergy. They discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in the oil and gas sector, in addition to reviewing developments related to the public licensing round and QatarEnergy’s participation in this round, the results of which are scheduled to be announced on February 11.

LNG 2026 is considered an important international platform, bringing together major global companies, decision-makers, and experts in the gas and energy sector. It provides a strategic opportunity to exchange expertise, explore investment opportunities, and build effective partnerships that contribute to supporting energy security and sustainable development.

The conference is held under the theme “Leading LNG: Delivering Energy for Today and Tomorrow” and addresses market trends, innovative technologies, and solutions shaping the future of a sector that remains a cornerstone of global energy security and the transition to low-carbon energy. The program includes dialogue sessions and interactive discussions on key topics, including the competitive advantages of LNG and its role in meeting global energy demand.

Alongside the conference, the LNG 2026 Exhibition will be held over an area of 35,000 square meters, with the participation of 300 local and international companies.

Around 20,000 participants are expected to attend the conference, which will feature dialogue sessions and panel discussions. The executive program will address themes such as “Global LNG Dynamics: An Industry Perspective,” “LNG: A Critical Enabler for a Low-Carbon Future,” and “Achieving Success Together: Building Strategic Partnerships in LNG.”

The conference will also include a ministerial and CEOs’ dialogue titled “Synergy in LNG: The Role of Government and Industry,” as well as sessions on “The Competitive Advantage of LNG: Ensuring Affordable Access for Emerging Markets,” “The Role of LNG in Meeting Growing Energy Demand and Supporting Economic Development,” and “The Future of LNG: Insights and Outlooks from the Conference.”

QatarEnergy

QatarEnergy is the state-owned petroleum company of Qatar, originally founded in 1974 as Qatar General Petroleum Corporation. It is central to the nation’s economy and is a global leader in the production and export of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
