
Tripoli, February 2, 2026 – Libya, represented by the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, is participating in the 21st International Conference and Exhibition for Liquefied Natural Gas, LNG 2026, hosted by Qatar today, Monday. The event sees the participation of 80 countries, along with top industry leaders, energy experts, and policymakers.
Prior to the conference, the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation stated that the institution’s participation reflects a commitment to openness towards international partnerships and strengthening its presence on global platforms. This serves the interests of Libya’s oil and gas sector and aligns with global transformations in this field.
Following his arrival in Doha, the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation met with Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs and the Chief Executive Officer of QatarEnergy. They discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in the oil and gas sector, in addition to reviewing updates on the public bidding round and QatarEnergy’s participation in this round, the results of which will be announced on February 11 of this year.
The LNG 2026 conference is a significant international platform, bringing together major global companies, decision-makers, and experts in the gas and energy sector. It provides a strategic opportunity to exchange expertise, explore investment opportunities, and build effective partnerships that contribute to supporting energy security and sustainable development.
The conference is held under the slogan “LNG Leadership: Providing Energy for Today’s and Tomorrow’s Needs.” It addresses market trends, innovative technologies, and solutions shaping the future of a sector that remains a cornerstone of global energy security and the transition to low-carbon energy. The conference program includes dialogue sessions and interactive discussions on pivotal topics, including the competitive advantages of LNG and its role in meeting global energy demand.
Alongside the conference, the LNG 2026 exhibition is being held across an area of 35,000 square meters, with the participation of 300 local and international companies.
Approximately 20,000 people are participating in the conference, which features dialogue sessions and discussion seminars. The executive program addresses “Global LNG Dynamics: An Industry Perspective,” “LNG: A Critical Enabler for a Low-Carbon Future,” and “Achieving Success Together: Building Strategic Partnerships in the LNG Field.”
The conference also includes a dialogue between ministers and chief executives titled “LNG Synergy: The Role of Government and Industry,” “The Competitive Advantage of LNG: Providing Affordable Access for Emerging Markets,” “The Role of LNG in Meeting Growing Energy Demand and Supporting Economic Development,” and “The Future of LNG: Insights and Expectations from the Conference.”
