Tripoli, February 2, 2026 – The activities of the comprehensive Libyan National Gathering were launched in the city of Tripoli today, Monday, under the slogan “Libya Unites Us… and the Homeland is Our Goal.” The event was attended by the Head of the Government of National Unity and a number of sheikhs, wise figures, and social and political personalities from various regions of the country.

According to the government’s media office, this gathering aims to enhance national unity and consolidate the values of consensus and dialogue among Libyans, contributing to supporting the path of stability and building a civil state. It also seeks to create a suitable climate for addressing national issues with a spirit of responsibility and partnership.

The gathering witnessed interventions and discussions addressing a number of national files, most notably enhancing social peace, bridging divisions, and supporting state institutions. Additionally, there was an emphasis on the necessity of continuing the comprehensive national dialogue to reach consensual solutions that serve the future of the country.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Head of the Government emphasized the importance of such inclusive meetings in building a stable civil state, unifying efforts, and prioritizing the supreme national interest. He stressed that Libya today needs the concerted efforts of all its sons, overcoming differences, and working jointly to achieve security, stability, and sustainable development.
