Tripoli, February 15, 2026 – The International Cycling Union has announced its official recognition of Mr. Samir Al-Amrani’s presidency of the Libyan Cycling Federation, a step that will enhance the stability of the sport and support its progress at both the local and international levels.

The International Union confirmed in its statement the existence of direct support and joint cooperation with the Libyan Federation in the coming years, contributing to the development of cycling in Libya and raising the level of participation in continental and international competitions.

This recognition is expected to pave the way for qualification and training programs for technical and administrative staff, in addition to supporting external participations and organizing tournaments according to international standards, reflecting the commitment of both sides to strengthening the presence of Libyan cycling in sports arenas.
