Derna – The increase in civilian aircraft passing through the skies of the city of Derna over the past few hours has sparked widespread debate on social media platforms, before it became clear that the reason is due to a major technical malfunction in the air navigation systems in Greece.
According to navigation sources, the malfunction led to the temporary closure of Greek airspace, forcing airlines to change their flight paths and pass through unusual airspace, including the airspace of the city of Derna in eastern Libya.
This sudden shift in flight paths raised questions among citizens, especially with the unusual density of air traffic, while the relevant authorities clarified that the matter is purely technical and is not related to any security risks.
