Tripoli, January 2, 2026 – The head of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority announced on Thursday that a final deadline for issuing the results of the investigation into the crash of the aircraft carrying Team Mohammed Al-Haddad and his companions cannot be set. The incident occurred on December 23 last year over Turkish territory.
He explained during a press conference held in Tripoli that the process of analyzing the black box data may take additional time due to the possibility of it being damaged. He noted that field and technical investigations typically extend for at least one year before the final results are announced.
The head of the Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the commitment to inform the public of the results as soon as the investigation is completed, emphasizing the importance of adhering to accuracy and transparency in all stages of the technical and judicial investigation to ensure the credibility of the findings.
