Benghazi, February 18, 2026 – The head of the government mandated by the House of Representatives called on both himself and the head of the Government of National Unity to prioritize the public interest and leave the political scene, instead of exchanging accusations about the causes of the current situation, in order to allow for the unification of state institutions and the implementation of the reform path.
In a televised speech on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, he stated that he offers fraternal advice, which is that if the presence of both parties represents an obstacle to stability, why don’t they both withdraw to make way for others to unify the institutions. He also called for sitting at one table to find a solution to the financial crisis.
The city of Sirte has witnessed a new start for the wheel of reconstruction after the elimination of terrorism, thanks to the sacrifices of the security forces and the national army, confirming that the signs of change have become clear.
He added that the city of Derna, whose people faced a great tragedy leading to the disappearance of many of its features, is today returning to its best condition thanks to the efforts of the reconstruction fund and the government.
