Al-Bayda, February 12, 2026 – A technical team from the Agricultural Research Center conducted a field visit yesterday, Wednesday, to fields planted with varieties developed by the center and delivered to farmers during the current agricultural season. This visit is part of implementing a program to monitor wheat and barley fields in targeted areas, under the agreement with the Grain Production Authority.

The field visit focused on monitoring soft wheat variety (210), durum wheat (D4), and barley variety (Misrata 04). The visit targeted the Al-Safsaf research station and the Al-Wasita and Al-Haniya areas to assess the general condition of the crops, monitor growth stages, and provide necessary technical guidance to farmers to enhance production efficiency and improve quality.

The team included expert specialists, the director of the Research and Studies Department, and a professor, accompanied by a media department representative from the center.

The Director of Media and Extension at the Agricultural Research Center stated that these visits are part of the continuous technical follow-up on locally developed varieties and aim to enhance direct communication with farmers.

She emphasized the continuation of extension and technical support programs in the coming stages, which will contribute to improving the productivity of wheat and barley crops and enhancing the country’s food security.
