Wadi Al-Shati, January 25, 2026 – Fezzan University and Wadi Al-Shati University discussed ways to expand the frameworks of scientific and academic cooperation between them.
This came during a visit by an academic delegation from Fezzan University to Wadi Al-Shati University on Sunday.
The meeting addressed the desire of both universities to elevate the level of existing cooperation to include broader and more organized coordination between scientific departments and colleges, in addition to coordinating scientific and training activities and exchanging academic expertise. This aims to improve the quality of the educational process and directly benefit students and faculty members.

Wadi Al-Shati
Wadi Al-Shati is a district and valley located in southwestern Libya, historically significant as part of the ancient Saharan trade routes. It is known for its oases and prehistoric rock art, which provide evidence of early human settlement in the region when the climate was more hospitable.
Fezzan University
Fezzan University is a public university located in Sabha, Libya, established in 1983 to serve the Fezzan region. It was founded to advance higher education and research in southern Libya, evolving from earlier educational institutes in the area.
Wadi Al-Shati University
Wadi Al-Shati University is a public university located in the Wadi al-Shati district of southwestern Libya. It was established in 1991 to serve the educational needs of the region and has since developed into an institution offering a range of undergraduate programs in fields such as arts, sciences, and engineering.
