Tripoli, February 1, 2026 – An expanded security meeting was held at the headquarters of the Tajoura Security Directorate to discuss the final arrangements and the security and administrative preparations for conducting the municipal council elections scheduled for next Saturday, the 7th of February.
The meeting included the Director of Tajoura Security, the Director of the General Department of Security Operations, the Chairman of the High National Elections Commission, the Director of the Election Security and Protection Department, the Head of the Main Chamber for Securing Electoral Operations, and was attended by a number of security leaders from the directorate and officers tasked with supervising the electoral districts within the municipality of Tajoura.
The meeting reviewed the preparations and organizational measures taken, aimed at ensuring the electoral process proceeds according to the established plan, in an atmosphere characterized by order, security, and safety.
The attendees also discussed mechanisms to enhance coordination and joint cooperation between the security agencies and representatives of the High National Elections Commission inside the polling centers spread throughout the municipality. They emphasized the importance of creating suitable conditions to enable citizens to exercise their electoral right with ease and in accordance with the highest standards of transparency and credibility.
