Tripoli, February 2, 2026 – An expanded and important meeting for the Libyan boxing family was held this morning, Monday, February 2, 2026, at the National Teams Hall in the Tripoli Sports City. The meeting was attended by coaches from the Western Region.
The meeting was opened with a welcoming speech, thanking and appreciating all coaches in various regions, praising the significant efforts they exert in preparing and refining boxers across all categories, and their focus on developing and caring for them until they reach the senior level.
For their part, the coaches praised the notable achievements made by the Libyan Boxing Federation in terms of external participations during the year 2025, expressing their happiness with the remarkable progress witnessed in Libyan boxing, especially recently.
The meeting concluded with several important points, most notably:
Setting the dates for the start of the preliminary qualifiers for the Libya Boxing Championship 2026 in all regions (Western, Eastern, Central, Green Mountain, and Gulf).
A preliminary agreement to hold the preliminary qualifiers for the Libya Boxing Championship 2026 in the Western Region on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Issuing cards approved by the Libyan Boxing Federation for boxers, coaches, referees, and administrators, to be used during competitions.
Imposing strict penalties by the organizing committee in case of non-compliance with the approved conditions, especially those clarified during the technical meeting.
Considering the participation of national teams in international commitments if they coincide with the federation’s activity calendar.
Discussing the establishment of a professional boxing championship according to global specifications and standards.
Assigning international coaches to supervise a qualification course for trainers in Tripoli in the coming period.
