
Tripoli – January 29, 2026 – The Minister of Social Affairs held an expanded meeting on Wednesday at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli. The meeting was dedicated to following up on ongoing preparations for implementing the Ministry’s programs and activities for the year 2026. During the meeting, executive priorities and mechanisms to enhance the social protection system and improve the level of services provided to target groups were reviewed.
According to the official page of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the meeting discussed ways to develop social programs to contribute to raising their efficiency and ensuring they reach those eligible, with a focus on improving service quality and expanding their scope to meet the needs of priority care groups and enhance social stability.
The meeting also touched on ongoing preparations for hosting a high-level Arab event, in cooperation with the Arab League. This step aims to support joint Arab coordination in the social field and strengthen Libya’s role in relevant regional initiatives and programs.
During the meeting, the Minister of Social Affairs emphasized the importance of early planning and establishing clear implementation plans supported by precise timelines to ensure the success of programs and the achievement of their goals. It was stressed that the upcoming phase requires institutional work that enhances Libya’s active presence in the Arab social work system.
This meeting comes within the framework of the Ministry of Social Affairs’ continued efforts to strengthen the social protection system and develop its programs to keep pace with the requirements of the current phase.
