The Libyan Football Federation’s Competitions Committee has announced the schedule for the first week of the Premier League, which is set to kick off on Wednesday with four matches in Groups One and Three.

Matches in Group One will begin with Al-Watan hosting Al-Madina at home. In the second match, Al-Dhahra will host Al-Khums at the Artificial River Stadium in Tripoli.

In Group Three matches, Al-Taawon will host Al-Suqoor at their home ground. The first day of the Premier League will conclude with a match between Tajammu’ Al-Hilal and Darnes at the Shuhada’ Binina Stadium in the city of Benghazi.

The first round matches will continue over three days, with games being held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The new edition of the Premier League will feature 35 teams, divided into four groups. Groups One and Two contain clubs from the Western Region, while Groups Three and Four contain clubs from the Eastern Region.

Al-Watan

Al-Watan is a cultural and entertainment destination in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which opened in 2017 as part of the country’s Vision 2030 initiative. It is a large-scale park and exhibition center designed to celebrate Saudi heritage, art, and national identity through interactive pavilions, gardens, and architectural displays.

Al-Madina

Today, it offers insights into Qatar’s heritage alongside modern developments.

Al-Khums

Al-Khums is a coastal city in northwestern Libya, historically significant as the site of ancient Leptis Magna, a prominent Roman city founded in the 7th century BC. The ruins of Leptis Magna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, represent one of the best-preserved Roman archaeological complexes in the Mediterranean.

Artificial River Stadium

The Artificial River Stadium is a major sports venue located in Pyongyang, North Korea, built on an island in the Taedong River and opened in 1989. It was originally constructed to host the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students and is known for its distinctive, sweeping roof design that resembles a parachute or magnolia flower.

Tripoli

Tripoli is the capital and largest city of Libya, with a history dating back to the 7th century BC when it was founded by the Phoenicians. It later became a significant part of the Roman Empire, the Ottoman Empire, and an Italian colony, which is reflected in its diverse architecture in the old medina. Al-Taawon

Al-Taawon is a Palestinian football club based in the city of Al-Bireh in the West Bank. Founded in 1973, it is one of the most prominent clubs in Palestinian sports and has won multiple national league and cup titles. The club’s name, which translates to “Cooperation,” reflects its community-oriented identity.

Al-Suqoor

Al-Suqoor is a historic fortress located in the Asir region of Saudi Arabia, originally built from stone and clay as a defensive stronghold. Its history is tied to the tribal conflicts and regional control struggles of the area, serving as a key military and surveillance site for local rulers. Tajammu’ Al-Hilal

Shuhada’ Binina Stadium

It was constructed in the 1980s and is notably the home ground of the Al-Nasr sports club. The stadium’s name, “Shuhada’ Binina,” translates to “Martyrs of Binina,” honoring local individuals who lost their lives.

Benghazi

Benghazi is a major city in eastern Libya, historically significant as a center of trade and culture since its founding as the Greek colony of Euesperides. It played a pivotal role in the 2011 Libyan Civil War as a key base for the uprising against Muammar Gaddafi.
