The General Union of Teachers has called on the House of Representatives to amend the salary law and approve a fair increase in wages for teachers and education sector employees, stressing that the re-evaluation of salaries for workers in education has become an urgent necessity.

The union emphasized that the education sector represents one of the most vital sectors upon which the process of state-building is based, noting that teachers bear significant national responsibilities no less important than those in other sectors.

It confirmed that improving the financial conditions of teachers directly reflects on the quality of the educational process, calling for a swift response to its demands to achieve justice and fairness for workers in this vital sector.
