The Egyptian Football Association mourned the death of Loi Ragab Sayed, a player for the Manshat Al-Bakkari Youth Center, who passed away after sustaining a severe injury during his team’s match against Sheikh Zayed Club in the 16th round of the Fourth Division League championship.
The player, Loi Sayed Ragab, born in 2005, played for the Manshat Al-Bakkari Youth Center.
The Egyptian Al-Bakkari Youth Center announced yesterday, Sunday, the death of its player Loi due to injuries sustained during the match against Sheikh Zayed in the Fourth Division League.
According to Egyptian media reports, Loi, aged 22, suffered a perforated stomach following a violent intervention by the Sheikh Zayed goalkeeper. The match ended with Al-Bakkari Youth winning 2-0.
According to the Al-Bakkari Youth account on the Facebook platform, the player was transferred to the hospital after the end of the first half, where it was decided he would undergo emergency surgery. However, the player passed away at the hospital.
An official statement was issued mourning the death of the young player Loi Ragab.
The statement read: “With profound sadness and sorrow, we mourn the young player Loi Ragab Sayed, a player for Al-Bakkari Youth Center, who passed away today. We pray to Almighty God to envelop him in His vast mercy and grant his family and loved ones patience and solace.”
Just days ago, Al-Bakkari Youth Center had celebrated an achievement by its player Loi Ragab, after he became the top scorer in the Giza region, Group Two league.
Loi Sayed Ragab, who wore the number 10 shirt, scored a goal after 20 seconds against Abu Rawash in the previous round.
