The price of coffee beans used to prepare Arabic coffee has recorded a noticeable increase of 12.5%, according to a field survey conducted today, Wednesday. The price per kilogram reached 90 dinars, compared to 80 dinars last week.
The increase is primarily due to the imposition of a new 7% fee on coffee bean imports, in addition to the decline in the value of the dinar, which has directly impacted wholesale and retail prices.
These developments will lead to an increase in the cost of importing new shipments of coffee beans, which will affect the local market and add to the burden on consumers.
