League leaders Bayern Munich were held to a 2-2 draw by hosts Hamburg on Saturday in the 20th round of the German football league, taking just one point from their last two matches.

This is the first time Bayern have failed to win against Hamburg after eight consecutive victories, during which the Bavarian team scored 36 goals and conceded only one.

Bayern increased their tally to 51 points at the top, with a nine-point lead over Borussia Dortmund, who could reduce the gap to 6 points if they win against visiting Heidenheim on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Hamburg moved out of the relegation-threatened positions by a one-point margin, with a game in hand.

The home side surprised the visitors with an opening goal from Portuguese player Fabio Vieira via a penalty (34′). However, English striker Harry Kane refused to let his team go into halftime trailing, equalizing from close range after receiving the ball from a weak shot by Joshua Kimmich (42′).

Seconds after coming on at the start of the second half, Colombian player Luis Diaz added a second goal for Bayern from inside the box after a pass from French player Mikael Olise (46′).

But Croatian player Luka Vuskovic leveled the score again with a headed equalizer, capitalizing on a cross from French player William Mikelbrencis (53′).

With this draw, Bayern have failed to win in two consecutive Bundesliga matches for the first time since March 2025.

Third Consecutive Win for Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen continued their positive results and achieved their third consecutive win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2023-2024 season, with a score of three goals to one.

After a run of three consecutive losses, Leverkusen regained their form with a Champions League victory that secured their place in the playoff for the round of 16, where they will face Greek side Olympiacos, and two wins in the league, raising their tally to 35 points in sixth place, eight points ahead of eighth-placed Frankfurt.

After Brazilian player Arthur gave them the lead with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area following a pass from Spanish player Alejandro Grimaldo (26′), American player Malik Tillman extended the lead with a shot from the edge of the box, capitalizing on a pass from Cameroonian player Christian Koufani (33′).

Robin Koch reduced the deficit for Frankfurt with a shot from inside the penalty area (50′), but Spanish player Alex Garcia restored the two-goal margin on a counter-attack with a close-range shot (90+3′), taking advantage of the opponent’s numerical disadvantage after the sending off of Tunisian player Elyas Skhiri (70′).
