Several commercial banks in Tripoli, along with banks in other regions, have announced the continued distribution of cash liquidity to citizens today, Sunday, via checks and ATMs. This is to provide an opportunity for employees who were unable to withdraw their salaries last week.

Bank administrations confirmed that the distribution process is proceeding regularly, with the necessary measures taken to reduce crowding and ensure liquidity reaches the largest number of beneficiaries.

In the same context, the Central Bank of Libya emphasized the continued shipment of cash liquidity to various regions, prioritizing cities in the Western Mountain region, as well as the eastern and southern areas. This is part of a plan aimed at improving the cash supply level and alleviating the liquidity crisis.

Tripoli

Tripoli is the capital and largest city of Libya, located on the country’s Mediterranean coast. Historically, it was founded by the Phoenicians in the 7th century BC and has since been ruled by the Romans, Arabs, Ottomans, and Italians, which is reflected in its diverse architecture like the ancient Red Castle (Assaraya al-Hamra).

Central Bank of Libya

The Central Bank of Libya is the country’s primary monetary authority, established in 1956 to issue currency and manage monetary policy. It has played a critical and often divisive role in Libya’s recent history, notably functioning as a unified financial institution throughout the post-2011 civil conflicts despite the country’s political fragmentation.

Western Mountain region

The Western Mountain region, often associated with the Taihang Mountains in northern China, is a historically significant area known for its rugged terrain and strategic military importance throughout ancient Chinese dynasties. It also holds cultural and spiritual value, with numerous temples and pilgrimage sites dotting its landscape, reflecting a long tradition of Daoist and Buddhist reverence for mountain sanctuaries.
