Al-Qubah, January 9, 2026 – The President of the House of Representatives emphasized the Council’s firm stance on the necessity of achieving stability through a clear constitutional and legal path, leading to the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections at the earliest opportunity, in response to the aspirations of the Libyan people.

This came during his reception in the city of Al-Qubah yesterday, Thursday, of the Deputy Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General in Libya.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the political situation in Libya and ways to push the democratic process forward.

For her part, the Deputy Envoy briefed the President of the House of Representatives on the results of her recent communications with various local and international parties, stressing the pivotal role of the House of Representatives as a legislative body in ensuring the success of the political roadmap, and the necessity of continued joint coordination to bring viewpoints closer and build trust among all political components.

Al-Qubah
