Tripoli, January 27, 2026 – The Minister of Transportation and Financial Advisor to the President of the Government of National Unity held a meeting with the executive management team of Boeing to discuss mechanisms for developing the country’s transportation and transit sector.
The meeting was attended by the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy to Libya, two members of the Libyan-American Council for Trade and Investment, the Acting Minister of Oil and Gas, the Head of the Executive Team for Presidential Initiatives and Projects, and a number of national experts.
The meeting addressed determining the size of the air fleet and programs for qualifying and training national personnel, in addition to aspects of cooperation between the government and Boeing to support the implementation of the initiative by the President of the Government of National Unity regarding developing and revitalizing Libya’s transportation and transit sector.
The meeting also included conducting a comprehensive survey of the Libyan market situation and identifying the required technical and operational needs to launch the company, in addition to discussing steps for the official registration and establishment of the company.
This executive track runs parallel to the Ministry of Transportation’s projects to develop airports across the country, which contributes to raising the quality of services provided, enhancing the efficiency of the aviation sector, developing management and operational capabilities, and supporting efforts to diversify the national economy and sources of income.
