Al-Farjani Publishing House has announced the release of the short story collection “The Days,” as part of its 2025 publishing program, confirming the work’s official availability among its publications at the Cairo International Book Fair 2026.
The collection comprises twelve short stories, distributed across the months of the year, with each one representing a “day” in the life of a different character. Through this temporal structure, the author presents diverse human scenes from daily life, addressing issues of poverty, displacement, social marginalization, nostalgia, and forms of quiet resistance.
The release of “The Days” follows one of the author’s stories making the shortlist for the first cycle of the “Kamil Al-Maghour Short Story Award” in 2025, which helped shed light on his literary experience that blends realistic narrative with precise cultural documentation.
The stories in the collection are narrated in a sensitive, realistic language that observes the details of life in Libyan cities as people live it. They restore value to what seems ordinary or marginalized through characters who resist oblivion and strive to remain present in the memory of place and people.
